All exams are 120-minute, scenario-based, proctored exams delivered via Pearson VUE, scored on a 100–1000 scale, and valid for 12 months.
Associate track
Operations, marketing, project management, education, comms — knowledge work where Claude is a productivity multiplier, not something you build on.
Claude Certified Associate – Foundations
Validates that you can apply Claude to complete business and productivity tasks with minimal guidance: using built-in platform features to streamline workflows, evaluating outputs critically, balancing quality, efficiency, and cost, and recognising when to escalate to Architects and Developers.

Claude Certified Developer – Foundations
Validates that you can build, integrate, and ship production-grade applications, agents, and workflows on the Claude platform: the Agent SDK, API integration, Claude Code, prompt and context engineering, evals, security, model selection, and custom tools and MCP servers.
Is this you?
Technical professionals who build, integrate, and ship production-grade AI solutions — AI/ML engineers, technical leads, and senior software engineers with 1–5 years of engineering experience and 6+ months hands-on with Claude or comparable LLM systems.

Architect track
Solution architects and technical leads making the tradeoff decisions — model choice, orchestration, RAG, evals, governance — across real production systems.
Claude Certified Architect – Foundations
Validates that you can make informed tradeoff decisions when implementing real-world solutions with Claude, across Claude Code, the Claude Agent SDK, the Claude API, and MCP. Questions are grounded in realistic production scenarios: support agents, multi-agent research pipelines, CI/CD integration, developer tooling, and structured data extraction.

Claude Certified Architect – Professional
Validates that you can design, build, and deliver production-grade AI solutions on the Claude platform: model and architecture selection, prompt and context engineering, enterprise integration (including RAG), evaluation and observability, security, compliance, governance, and stakeholder communication across the full solution lifecycle.
Is this you?
Mid- to senior-level solution architects, AI/ML engineers, and technical leads who design, build, and deliver production-grade AI solutions — typically 3+ years in systems architecture and 6+ months hands-on with Claude in production.

Foundations first, then Professional
Each track starts at Foundations — proof you can work effectively with Claude. The Professional level (today, Architect Professional) goes deeper: production-grade enterprise integration, evaluation, governance, and stakeholder communication across the full solution lifecycle.
