How to get access to the Claude certifications
Last updated: 28 July 2026
You can't simply book one of these exams. Here's the actual position, and what to do about it.
Why there's no booking page
Registration runs through the Anthropic Partner Academy and requires an email on a recognised company domain; personal addresses are rejected.
That single requirement is what catches most people out. You go looking for a checkout page, expecting something like an AWS or Google exam booking, and there isn't one. The certifications were built for the Claude Partner Network first, so the front door is an organisation, not a card payment.
Once you're registered on the Academy the rest is ordinary: you pick your certification, pay the exam fee, and get a link to Pearson VUE to schedule it.
The problem if you're independent
The Claude Partner Network is free to join and isn't an invitation list, so the barrier isn't cost or connections. It's the qualifying criteria. To join, your company should:
- Be a registered business with 10 or more employees
- Operate in a supported region
- Offer consulting, implementation, or managed services to customers
Read that first line again, because it's the one that stops people: 10 or more employees. It isn't about how good you are with Claude. A capable solo consultant with paying clients and a registered company still doesn't clear it, and there is no individual tier underneath.
So if you're freelance, between roles, or working somewhere that hasn't joined, that's the wall — not the exam, and not your ability. Nearly everyone who gets stuck gets stuck exactly here.
Criteria change. Check Anthropic's partner page for the current position before assuming this still holds.
The routes that are still open
There are four, and they're worth being honest about — some are far easier than others.
Through your employer
By far the most realistic route. If you work somewhere with 10 or more people that does — or wants to do — consulting or implementation work, it can join the network itself, and your work email becomes your way in. Worth asking before assuming no: joining is free, and the benefits of a certified headcount accrue to the company, not just to you.
Through your own company
Open to you only if your business genuinely meets the bar — registered, 10+ employees, delivering services to customers. If you're a one- or two-person consultancy, this route isn't available today, however real your client work is. Worth knowing rather than spending weeks on an application that can't succeed.
Through an existing partner organisation
Some partner organisations will affiliate practitioners they intend to work with and provision access on their domain. That's a real conversation about real work rather than something you can simply buy, and the numbers any one organisation can take on are small.
Wait, and keep preparing
The program is young and has changed repeatedly since it launched. Studying now costs you nothing here, and the material doesn't expire while access catches up.
What the exams cost and how they run
All four are proctored, scenario-based exams delivered through Pearson VUE — either online from home via OnVUE, or at a physical test centre. Each runs 120 minutes, is scored on a 100–1000 scale with 720 to pass, and the credential is valid for 12 months.

What to do next
Don't let the access question stall the preparation. The material here is free — study guides, practice questions, and timed mock exams for all four certifications. Create a free account and get ready while you sort the route in.
Frequently asked questions
Can I book a Claude certification exam without a company?
Not directly. There is no consumer checkout for the Claude certifications. Registration runs through the Anthropic Partner Academy, which expects an email on a recognised company domain, so the route in is always through an organisation of some kind — your employer, your own company, or a partner organisation willing to affiliate you.
Do I need a company email address?
Yes. Registration requires an email on a recognised company domain, and personal addresses such as Gmail or Outlook are rejected. The domain has to be associated with an organisation in the Claude Partner Network.
Can freelancers join the Claude Partner Network?
Not as things stand. To qualify, a company should be a registered business with 10 or more employees, operate in a supported region, and offer consulting, implementation, or managed services to customers. A sole trader or small consultancy doesn't clear the employee threshold, and there is no individual tier. The practical routes for independents are through an employer or through an existing partner organisation willing to affiliate you.
How much do the Claude certification exams cost?
Between $99 and $175 depending on which exam you sit, paid at registration. Associate Foundations is $99, Developer Foundations and Architect Foundations are $125 each, and Architect Professional is $175.
